Many services and support systems we enjoy as residents are under the umbrella of Halton Region, but it isn't always easy to know which services are supplied by the Town of Oakville and which are the responsibility of the Region. The information below is meant to help you find answers.
  • Regional Construction
    Many of roads in Oakville are classified as Regional Roads. Likewise things such as wastewater, drinking water and waste management are Region of Halton initiatives.   • Downspout Disconnection Subsidy
    Downspouts that are directly connected to the sanity sewer system (in the ground) can be a contributor to basement flooding during heavy rainfall. This is most often found in older homes.     Halton Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) owns and operates 27 communities within Halton Region, providing housing to families and seniors. Communities include townhouses, apartments as well as single and semi-detached dwellings. Applicants are selected from the Halton Access to Community Housing (HATCH) rent-geared-to-income (RGI) waiting list. Market rent units are also available within HCHC communities.
